Jas. Davis died of general debility Saturday night at the residence of his son-in-law, Jack Robertson, aged 88 years. He was born in Baum County, Ky., Sept. 2, 1802, and when ten years old the family moved to Preble County, Ohio, where he grew up to manhood and married Miss Lucy Morris, to whom were born nine children. Only one, Mrs. L. Robertson, survive them. His wife departed this life Sept. 19, 1883. Mr. Davis came to this neighborhood in 1840 and with the exception of 3 years, which he spent in Clinton County, has resided ever since in this community. He became a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church when young and his life has always been that of a Christian. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Kindig at the M. E. Church yesterday after which he was interred by the side of his wife in the Presbyterian Cemetery.
